Toshimi Kuma, founder of Seibu Giken, established “Kuma Laboratory,” private R&D center, in Hakozaki, Fukuoka, while working at Kyushu University Faculty of Engineering.

1965.7

Established Seibu Giken Technology Research Co., Ltd. President: Toshimi Kuma

1972.4

Changed company’s name to “Seibu Giken Co., Ltd.”

1976.9

Concluded a license agreement with Baek-Ryoon Industrial Co., Ltd., Korea.

1978.7

Established a joint venture, “Japan Thermo-lung Co., Ltd.” located in Iizuka City, Fukuoka, with Nittetsu Mining Co., Ltd.

1979.11

Transferred production technology of total heat exchanger to Baek-Ryoon Industrial Co., Ltd., Korea.

1984.4

Concluded sales agreement with Shinsung Engineering Co., Ltd., Korea.

Concluded sales agreement with DST Sorptionsteknik AB, Sweden.

Transferred a production line for flexible panel heaters to Hisayama Jiritsu-en, vocational aid center for handicapped workers, and contract manufacturing is ongoing.

Concluded sales agreement with Kraftanlagen AG, Heidelberg, Germany.

Toshimi Kuma received an honorary invitation, known as “Ehrenteinladurg,” from Heidelberg City Mayor.

1993.10

Acquired DST Sorptionsteknik AB and established distributors in 17 European countries.

1995.10

Built a new head office and plant in Koga-city, Fukuoka.

1997.9

Chieko Kuma assumed the position of president after Toshimi Kuma’s passing.

Obtained ISO9001 certification.

Established “Kuma Toshimi International Engineering Sciences Organization.”

Began to a private scholarship for international students studying for a doctorate degree at the Kyushu University Graduate School.

Obtained ISO14001 certification.

Established a subsidiary company, Seibu Giken America, Inc., in the United States.

Fumio Kuma assumed the position of president.

Succeeded the total heat exchanger business from Shin-Nihon Thermolung Co., Ltd.

President Mr. Fumio Kuma has been inaugurated to be a Swedish Honorary Consul, and started the Honorary Consular Office service.
